CoCo Bonds

Contingent Convertible Bonds. Bonds which are only convertible into stock if the stock price spikes quickly. CoCo Bonds circumvent FASB rules of being included in the calculations of fully diluted earnings per share of common stock because of their conversion features. Recently however, legislation has been proposed to include CoCo Bonds in the calculation of fully diluted earnings per share of common stock.
