contents

In personal property insurance, this refers to property that belongs to the insured and is separate from the home; for example, electronics, clothing, and furnishings. The term does not apply to pets, boats, or vehicles. In commercial property insurance, this refers to the business' property that is separate from the business' building; for example, office furniture, computers, or machinery.
