information coefficient

Measure of the efficiency of a portfolio selection process based on the comparison of the actual performance of the portfolio with the predicted returns. Used also as a measure of a market analyst's skill in correctly forecasting market trends deduced from the available information. It is expressed as a number between 0 and +1: the nearer the score to +1, the greater the analyst's skill.
