A mutual fund in which the load, or investor participation fee, is paid on an ongoing basis. Level-load funds are different from a front-load arrangement, in which the load is paid when the investor purchases fund shares, or a back-end load arrangement, in which the investor pays the load if they sell back their shares within a specified period of time.
