microfinance channel

Banking and other financial services provided to low-income groups who would normally be excluded from working through more standard financial institutions due to the small values involved. A microfinance channel may provide for the safeguarding of small-value accounts, or the execution of transactions which would normally cost in finance charges more than the value of the transaction.
