Monetary Conditions Index (MCI)

A type of measure of the effect of Canadian monetary policy and the overall effect it has on the economy in Canada. This also helps in determining whether to either tighten or to ease the monetary policy. This is typically done by making changes in interest rates, the exchange rate, or to both.
