Northern Rock

Nationalized British bank operated by the United Kingdom. The bank was formed in 1965 after Northern Counties Permanent Building Society and Rock Building Society merged to form one company. Northern Rock was previously a public company and was taken into state ownership in 2008 after stability issues arose.
